Kia ora, My name is Bethany, I have been an in home
educator for the past 7 years. I hold a current First Aid
Certificate and have Level 4 Early Childhood qualification.
I have three children who are 12, 9 and 6 months. I have a
passion for watching and helping children learn and grow,
something that my whole family also embraces. My older
children love to get involved with all my care children when
they have the opportunity, my partner is always making us
new resources and toys, which enables us to provide
learning experiences and resources based around the
children’s current interests.
My family and I believe every child that comes to care here,
is an extension of our own family, so we ensure that the
children’s whānau can be as involved as they like and are
encouraged to be involved. I believe all children should be
able to learn in an environment which is calm and nurturing
and encourages learning through play, as well as activities
that are customised to each individual child, or family. I
believe play-based learning, with many different
experiences and opportunities sets them up to confidant
and capable learners in the future. All children need to be
encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace,
children need to be allowed the freedom to get messy, to
create their own learning opportunities and build lasting
friendships, all while having fun.
Most mornings we aim to be out of the house either on
playdates with other LRF educators and their children, at
music sessions, playgroups, or other activities like fruit
picking, walks, exploring the playgrounds and parks etc. In
the afternoons you will often find us outside, doing some
arts and craft, building, or creating. We have a large
selection of resources, so the children will be given many
different opportunities even when we are home.
Please feel free to get in contact if you would like to see
what I can offer your whānau.
