Kia ora, my name is Katherine Batty and I am a qualified Early Childhood teacher offering home-based education in Tahunanui. I also have a current First Aid certificate.
Having worked in the industry for many years, I am highly experienced with children aged 0 – 12 years.
Children are my passion and they inspire me, from my own daughters to each and every child I meet. I believe that children learn through doing, making a mess, trial and error and leading their own learning. I enjoy taking the time to observe a child’s interest and provide opportunities for them to extend their understanding of the wider world through play, experimentation and new experiences.
I offer a full and exciting programme, which includes weekly gym, music and nature play sessions. I am passionate about early childhood education and strive to ensure I provide an environment where children are valued, respected and have the time and space to be children all the while learning valuable life skills.
We attend weekly activities within the community, including gymnastics, music and playgroups. I also organise trips based around the children's current interests. These often include beach trips, visits to the airport and Nature Land.
